Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) was declared a Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 in the year 2008. Since its inception, CARE has been making significant contributions to society as a premier institution for higher learning and research, particularly in the fields of Medicine, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing.
The University offers 100+academic programmes across the Faculties of Medicine, Nursing , Allied Health Care Courses , Architecture, Law, Engineering and Management . Many of these programmes are interdisciplinary and aligned with emerging global and societal needs. Currently, CARE nurtures a vibrant academic community of over 2,500 students pursuing Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) at Chettinad College of Physiotherapy is a 4-year undergraduate course followed by a 1-year compulsory internship designed to build a strong foundation in rehabilitative medicine.
